We thought it’d be helpful to include a couple of useful resources on the site to help amateur makers and people new to the cider making world, so we’ve integrated a new ABV Calculator into the site.

It’s really simple to use, but you’ll need your readings from your hydrometer to use it. You’ll need the Original Gravity (the reading right at the beginning of the juice) and your final gravity (the reading now that the fermentation as finished).

In order to calculate the ABV, simply enter those 2 readings & hit ‘calculate’ – we’ll take care of the rest!

This calculator is also pretty helpful at the beginning of the season, when you’re looking at potentials of your juice and whether you need to chapitalise (add more sugar) depending on what sort of % volume you’re after.
